Lake Danao

One of the newly discovered outdoor activities located within the western part of Misamis Oriental is the Tula-Lake Danao Mountain Trail Hike. It is a two (2) to four (4) hours hike from Barangay Tula that will traverse the Mt. Salumayagon range.

Lake Danao a 4 hectare lake approximately 30 kms. Southwest from the town proper, located atop mount Salumayagon, filled with natural and scenic attractions (elevation 868 meters above sea level). It is within the 1000-hectare forested area of barangay Tula considered to be the last frontier of west Misamis Oriental. A home to diverse species of endemic trees, an adventure trek, ideal for nature exploration, hiking and trecking. (Source)

Barangay Tula is in Alubijid, but can be reached from Manticao also.

Tinago Spring

The spring is generally an abundant source of water but going to the place really takes a healthy and strong stamina for the person who would go there.

There are at least 10 springs in Barangay Tuod.
Linanot Spring and  Kalayo Cold Spring are some of them.
We will conduct more research about this.

Linanot Spring

One of the important sources of potable water in Manticao. It is also noted for its pristine environment that makes it an ideal site for adventure tourism.

There are at least 10 springs in Barangay Tuod.
Tinago Spring and  Kalayo Cold Spring are some of them.

Donque Hill

Donque Hill in 360°

In 1968 the were rare species of birds spotted in Camp Dunque.
Not sure yet if the two sites are related.

 

Dunque Hill located in Upper Malubog in the Municipality of Manticao is the highest point in the western part of Misamis Oriental. A popular religious site during the Holy Week, it has since been called “Mt. Sinai”.

The top is more or less 8 kilometers from Barangay Tuod, the nearest populated village which is about 12 kilometers from the town proper. (Source)
