February 2, feast of Nuestra Senora de la Candelaria

The Feast of the Purification of the Virgin is aptly symbolized by an image of the Virgin of Candelaria.
She is also known as Our Lady of the Candles.
In Spanish-speaking countries or former Spanish colonies, the image is called Virgen de Candelaria or Nuestra Senora de la Candelaria.
For Cebuano-speaking Filipinos, she is Birhen sa Candelaria.
So today, many Filipinos are celebrating their city or town fiesta.
Among these are Cabadbaran City of Agusan del Norte, Tagoloan of Misamis Oriental, Jaro City of Iloilo and Silang of Cavite.
