The Church of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, also known as the Tagoloan Church, is situated beside St. Mary’s Academy of Tagoloan and fronting Tagoloan Plaza.

Our Lady of the Candles (Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria; formally: Nuestra Señora de la Purificación y Candelaria) is a Marian title and image venerated by Filipino Catholics in the Western Visayas. The image, which is enshrined in the balcony of Jaro Cathedral, is locally known as the patroness of Jaro District of Iloilo City.

The feast day of Our Lady of the Candles is on Candlemas (2 February)

Iglesia ni Cristo, abbreviated as INC; (English: Church of Christ) is an international Christian denomination that originated in the Philippines. It was registered in 1914 by Felix Manalo, who became its first executive minister.

In 2010, the Philippine census by the National Statistics Office found that 2.45 percent of the population in the Philippines are affiliated with the Iglesia ni Cristo, making it the third largest religious denomination in the Philippines after the Roman Catholic Church (80.6%) and Islam (5.6%), respectively. Tagoloan River is the 13th largest river system in the Philippines in terms of watershed size, as classified by the National Water Resources Board. It has an estimated drainage area of 1,704 square kilometers covering the provinces of Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental. It has a length of 106 kilometers from its source in Malaybalay City,

WWII Tunnels

There are 5 identified tunnels in Tagoloan, which are believed to have been used during World War II.
According to the locals, these tunnels were allegedly used by the early Tagoloanons as hideouts to protect themselves from Japanese soldiers.
The 5 tunnels were recorded in Barangay Natumolan, namely:
U Tunnel, Tunnel #2, Skull Tunnel, Nanay Tunnel, and Nagangga Tunnel. (Source)
