Migtugsok can be accessed from Mapawa Park or from the Kamakawan trail in Indahag.

The Kamakawan trail is roughly 1.5 kilometers or an hour of trekking depending on your pace. It has a steep portion as it nears the descent towards Bigaan River.

In Mapawa, there are two paths to reach Migtugsok Falls: (1) via river trail or (2) via Mapawa-Migtugsok Road. The first one is a shorter route roughly 1.8 kilometers and follows the tributary which leads to the falls. The latter is an all-weather road which actually leads you to the falls but is longer (4 kilometers).

Migtugsok Falls consists of 3 cascades and from here, there is a only short trek upstream, to Puntol Falls.

For the easiest access to these Falls, visit Mapawa Nature Park

Mapawa Nature Park

MAPAWA NATURE PARK NOTICE (Facebook Aug 7, 2020)
It is with deep regret that we inform our clients and partners that Mapawa Nature Park Corp. (“MNP”) has ceased operations effective August 1, 2020. The effects of the COVID19 pandemic has made our operations no longer viable as a commercial enterprise.
For the past 14 years, MAPAWA has grown to become one of the leading eco-tourism destinations in Mindanao. Amidst its pristine splendor, MNP welcomed countless guests to savor the tranquility and beauty of the MAPAWA mountain ranges and breathtaking horizons. We hosted competitions and events, some of them attended by participants from all over the world who were amazed by its challenging terrain and amazing views.
E. Pelaez Ranch, Inc. (“EPRI”), in partnership with the Department of the Environment and Natural Resources (“DENR”) and other stakeholders, shall continue to preserve and maintain MAPAWA as a center for ecological conservation, biodiversity, and environmental activities.
Thank you for your support and stay safe!

Guadelupe Shrine

Our Lady of Guadalupe, also known as the Virgin of Guadalupe, is believed to be the bearer of many miracles. In the Philippines, several towns and provinces celebrate the feast of the Virgin with different religious and traditional activities. In some places, childless women devotees dance before the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe to ask for a miracle. Those who get answers go back to the image every year as a pledge and lifetime pilgrimage.

The Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine in Tablon is said to possess the same miraculous powers. She can heal and she can help childless women become pregnant. To be able to get to the shrine, however, you will have to cross nine rivers. River waters can vary according to the season or weather, but since it is summertime, they won’t be that deep. The 4km (more or less) trail connects three barangays: Tablon, Agusan, and Balubal. For some, it can be a tiresome trek, especially since you’ll have to wade through ankle or knee-deep waters. For the many who have made it their yearly pilgrimage, though, the trek to the shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe is worth every sweat and every effort. They do not mind the scorching heat of the sun and the (sometimes) strong water current. It is their Panaad; their pledge. Their promise.

This Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, if you want to experience what a real pilgrimage can be like, why don’t you try trekking through the nine rivers that take you to the shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe? Who know what miracles await you there? (Source)

River Trekking (Agusan River)

guadroute

The Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, located in Igbalalay Hills in Tablon is the goal for this trek.

The route of mixed land and river crossings (9) starts at Phasco Village Crossing along the highway. The Shrine Complex is at the end of a nearly 4.5 kilometer route. It would take around 4 hours to reach the Shrine from the highway. The river crossings and the shade of the vegetative landscape provide enough coolness and shade from the heat of the sun. Because of these, many devotees are flocking to the site.
