“Tobacco Festival” is the name of the festivity for the Araw ng Laguingingan. It successfully made the Municipality of Laguindingan more popular not only for Laguindingan airport but, for its livelihood product the tobacco.

Gitagum is one of the places that celebrate Sinulog Festival every third Sunday of January. Cebu City is known for this festive celebration. The Sinulog Festival is in honor of the Santo Nino or the Child Jesus, who is represented by an image that devotees consider miraculous.

The only significant celebration this town celebrates is the town fiesta in honor of the Patron Saint Francis Xavier which is held every December 2 and 3 although the celebration stretches for a week.
The celebration features parades, sports competitions, cultural show and playground demonstration. A beauty pageant and a variety show are also held.
